Probably will want to wait until 11th level Ranger (for Distant Strikes, which really is the iconic Horizon Walker feature) for multiclassing, or 12th level for that ASI as a general rule for whatever you decide to dip into.I would say take the first 5 levels ranger. Then take either two levels of druid or three of rogue. Scout and assassin would work well for your concept. I would say wield a longsword and shield, or a greatsword/axe as the horizon walker is about one powerful attack. If you weren't being melee, you could take a longbow and focus on that.
