The only thing you need to do is buy a set screw to lock the shift know in place and your good to go. The "Flat Stick" has a small collar that locks the ball to the brass thread they epoxy into the ball in whatever direction desired. They supply a special wrench to tighten in the shifter kit. But IMO a large round shape like a 2 1/4 inch diameter cue ball size helps especially with my often used 4th to 7th shift.. Zero wheeled vehicles nyt

C6 Corvette ZR1 & Z06 - MGW Shifter Play - Just installed the MGW shifter last night and on my test drive to work this morning, I noticed there was quite a bit of play once in gear. Like, the top of the knob would swing .75 of an inch in either direction (1.5~ of play total) once in gear. I put the MGW shifter in my Z06 and got a new OEM lower box. Car seemed fine but on a long trip (Power Tour) it would occasionally jump out of 6th on decel. While traveling with no tools or place to work, went to a well known shop near Tampa and they readjusted things (they said "no charge" so I bought them lunch)..
