Asoiaf book series - Well, I guess Book of the New Sun is more sci-fi. In terms of sci-fi I would say Book of the New Sun and Dune are in a hard tie. The sheer amount of exposure it's receiving now guarantees that it will never become a niche series. ASOIAF has already cultivated a greater fandom effect than LOTR when it first came out.
